This summer my community partner is a South Florida based educational and mentorship nonprofit named Propel. I worked at their Boca Raton office, where they serve underrepresented students from grades 6 to 12. Some of their programs include mentorship, tutoring, SAT/ACT prep, life skill training, financial literacy, and various extracurriculars. Back in 2003, they realized that there was a need to keep kids off the street, in a safe environment, and provide them with mentorship and resources. As an alumni myself, I know that Propel is an organization that works tirelessly to make sure their students graduate, obtain a degree or enter a trade school, and become well-adjusted adults. This coming fall they will open two more locations throughout Palm Beach county and will expand to elementary schools at one location!
